With the widespread use of taping processes for components like LEDs, metal parts, inductors, and SMDs, the role of automatic taping machines has become increasingly important. Any automated equipment consists of three parts: actuators, sensors, and controllers. When equipment malfunctions or operates abnormally, we can diagnose it from the following four dimensions.
1. Check Sensor Position Alignment
Due to vibrations during operation, sensors may loosen over time. The first step in troubleshooting should be:
- Regular Inspection: Confirm if the sensor's sensing position and sensitivity are normal.
- Timely Adjustment: If deviation is found, tighten and adjust immediately; if the sensor is damaged or sensitivity fails, replace it.
- Common Mistake: Sometimes faults occur simply due to maintenance negligence, where sensors are not detecting correctly.
2. Ensure Power, Air, and Hydraulic Supply
Power source issues are often the direct cause of equipment failure. Checks should cover the entire workshop environment:
- Power System: Check if voltage is stable, fuses are blown, and plug contacts are good.
- Air System: Confirm the air pump is on and the pneumatic FRL (Filter, Regulator, Lubricator) unit is supplying air normally.
- Hydraulic System: Check if the hydraulic pump is working and if relief valves or pressure valves are open.
3. Inspect Control System Components (Relays/Valves)
As the "nervous system" of the equipment, wear and tear on control components can cause abnormal actions:
- Relays: Contacts may stick (grounding) after long-term use, preventing electrical circuits from opening or closing properly. Replacement is needed.
- Control Valves: Adjustment springs in flow control valves (throttle valves) and pressure control valves in pneumatic/hydraulic systems may loosen due to vibration, changing pressure or flow parameters, requiring recalibration.
4. Check Incoming Material Specifications and Burrs
If the taping machine frequently experiences Jamming or cannot run, it's not necessarily a machine fault; it could be a material issue:
Automatic taping machines are high-precision equipment requiring high consistency in incoming materials. Be sure to check:
- Whether the dimensions of different product batches are consistent.
- Whether Burrs on the product edges exceed the allowable tolerance range of the automation equipment.
